Low MOQ Gummy Manufacturers: How to Compare and What to Expect

Quick answer: A low MOQ gummy manufacturer is one that lets you start with a small first order, often a few hundred to a few thousand bottles, instead of tens of thousands. The minimum is set by the factory's gummy cooking batch, your packaging, and your ingredients, so the same factory can quote very different minimums for different products. Ask every supplier for the minimum per product, not a single headline number. At NuCoreBio, the minimum for private label gummies is 500 bottles per product.

Disclosure: this guide is published by NuCoreBio, a supplement manufacturer. We explain how to compare suppliers and show how we answer each question, so you can ask every factory the same things.

Why gummy minimums are not the same everywhere

Gummies are cooked in batches, poured into molds, cured and then packed. Every batch has a practical minimum size. A factory that cooks very large batches may need a high minimum to make the run worthwhile, while a factory set up for smaller runs can accept smaller orders. That is why two suppliers can both say "low MOQ" and mean very different numbers.

Our minimum cooking batch is 90 kg. Our minimum order for gummies is 500 bottles per product, and we confirm the exact figure for your formula in the quotation.

What sets the minimum

Factor Why it changes the MOQ
Gummy cooking batch The factory needs a minimum batch size to run the line
Active ingredients Branded or specialty raw materials are often sold in large lots, so the minimum can rise to 5,000-10,000 bottles per SKU
Packaging Custom printed pouches and sleeves have their own print minimums, for example 1,000 bags for printed resealable pouches
Number of flavors and SKUs Each product usually carries its own minimum
Formula complexity Gummies can hold a limited amount of actives, and high-dose formulas may need a different format

Seven questions to ask every gummy manufacturer

Send the same questions to every supplier. The answers are easier to compare than a price list.

  1. What is the minimum order for my exact formula, per product? A headline MOQ often applies only to the simplest product.
  2. Does the minimum change if I use branded or specialty ingredients?
  3. Is the packaging minimum separate from the formula minimum?
  4. Who owns the formula? At NuCoreBio, the formula belongs to you.
  5. What does a sample cost, and how long does it take? Our ready-stock samples are free, and custom-made samples cost $30.
  6. How long does production take after approval? Ours is usually around 15 days, confirmed in the quotation.
  7. What testing and documents are included, and who holds the certificates? Our group holds NSF/ANSI 455-2 GMP, FSSC 22000, ISO, HACCP, BRCGS and Halal certificates.

Red flags when comparing quotes

  • A very low MOQ with no per-product detail. Ask what happens when you add a second flavor or a branded ingredient.
  • A price that does not say what is included. Ask whether the price covers packaging, testing documents and the label.
  • No clear answer on active loading. A gummy can carry only a limited share of actives by weight (at our factory, up to about 30% of the gummy), so a formula that promises large doses in a single gummy needs checking.
  • A "stock formula" presented as a custom formula. Ask whether the formula is yours, and who can order it.
  • No mention of shipping terms. EXW, FOB and DDP change who pays for freight and duties. See our DDP vs FOB guide.

How to keep your first gummy order small

  1. Start with one product and one or two flavors. Each added SKU raises the total order.
  2. Use standard ingredients first. Move to branded ingredients after the first sales data.
  3. Choose standard bottles before custom printed packaging, then upgrade the packaging in the second order.
  4. Ask for a sample before you commit, and approve the taste, texture and label before production.
  5. Agree on the shipping term in writing before you pay a deposit.

Low MOQ gummy questions

What is a typical MOQ for private label gummies?

It varies by factory, ingredients and packaging. Ask each supplier for the minimum per product. At NuCoreBio, it is 500 bottles per product for standard formulas.

Can I order fewer than 500 bottles?

Not for a custom gummy run. Gummies are cooked in batches with a minimum size, so the 500-bottle minimum is the smallest order we can run per product. Ready-stock samples are free if you want to test first.

Does a lower MOQ mean a higher price per bottle?

Often yes. Smaller runs spread the batch, packaging and setup costs over fewer bottles. Ask for quotes at two quantities, for example 500 and 2,000 bottles, so you can see how the price changes.

Do you offer low MOQ for other formats?

Yes. The minimum is 500 bottles for capsules, powders and tablets too. Softgels start at 300,000 softgels per product, which is 5,000 bottles at 60 softgels per bottle. See our low MOQ supplement manufacturer page.
